The Chehalem Cultural Center is making our first ever coloring book and is looking for artists to contribute! This will be launched alongside the opening reception of The Little Art Exhibition, set for spring 2025. The book will feature art under the theme, “Growing Together.” While the theme is a nod to Newberg’s town motto and the Chehalem Cultural Center's goals for art, education, and community, it can be interpreted multiple ways.
We would like to make a kid-friendly coloring book. We would love to see coloring page designs that celebrate:
Local landmarks & landscapes
Local fairs, festivals, and markets from any time of the year
Northwest animals & plants
Local food
Local events & activities
If you’d like to submit a design for our coloring book, here’s how to apply:
Please email galleries@chehalemculturalcenter.org to apply, with the email titled: Applying for the Coloring Book
Please include your designed file, the title of your design, your name, and what your color page(s) were inspired by.
Each artist can submit up to three designs for review
File specifications:
Files should be formatted as 8x8 inches
Submitted files must be a PDF
Files need to be saved at 300 DPI, so quality for printing remains high
Files can only have black, white, and gray toned designs
Be aware of the bleed of your file when designing; the ⅛” around the edges of the page may be cut off in printing
This is a community project. Selected artists will receive a copy of the coloring book and will be invited to our coloring book launch and opening reception. All artists will be credited in the coloring book. Proceeds from the sale of this coloring book will go toward supporting the Chehalem Cultural Center’s galleries and education programs. If you have any questions, please email galleries@chehalemculturalcenter.org
