Lessons From Walden: Thoreau and the Digital Age

A Two Part Lecture with John Phillips

October 29 & Nov 12 | 6pm - 7pm

Why Walden?

Because it is unique. Walden is an autobiography, a philosophical rant and a book about Nature. It is also social protest aimed at materialism and apathy and the hollow rewards of an acquisitive society. Most importantly it is a work of literature, an especially good one. Thoreau thought of himself as a writer, most of all. And write he did. Almost continuously throughout his short-lived adult life.
