Featured Piece: A Beaconing Within by Tabby Ivy

Inspired by the timeless words of John Muir, “And into the woods I go, to lose my mind and find my soul,” this small group exhibition offers a transformative journey into the heart of nature's wild beauty. Like Muir’s own reverence for the wilderness, the show beckons you to step away from the noise of the everyday and immerse yourself in a space where the woods become both a refuge and a place of discovery.

Through a dynamic collection of paintings and sculptures, the artists explore a vast spectrum of woodland experiences—some fantastical and surreal, others haunting or forlorn, and all deeply evocative. The forest, as portrayed in these works, is a liminal space where reality and imagination blur, inviting you to lose yourself in its mysterious allure. The landscapes vary from vibrant, enchanted forests teeming with mythical creatures to shadowy, silent groves that hold untold stories in their depths.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Karin Carter | karincarterart.com | Contact via website

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, I now live in Newberg, Oregon. I particularly enjoy chasing elusive visions of objects that don’t yet exist. The directness of the work—look, touch, create—is highly satisfying. To make a face with eyes that look at you, and see it arise out of a 25-pound block of mud feels like magic.

After over thirty years in Montana, Tabby Ivy now calls Carlton, Oregon home. She relies on intuition and curiosity to guide her work. She strives for her paintings to be evocative and engaging while leaving a bit of mystery for the viewer to ponder. Her refinement of style has brought her work recognition and collectors from across the country.

Rebecca Kiser | rebeccakiserfineart.com | rebeccakiserfineart@gmail.com

Rebecca’s work is inspired by the forested mountains, rugged coast, and ever-changing atmosphere of western Oregon. After studying art and design at Brigham Young University, she poured her creative energy into her family. With the children raised, she returned to painting and loves the challenge of sharing the gift of God’s beautiful creations through her art.

Elena Markova | markova.org | artmarkova@yahoo.com

Elena Markova, a Northwest resident for 11 years, weaves local nature with her whimsical artistry. Through layered acrylics, she conjures soft, misty realms, evoking a dreamlike ambiance. Her ethereal works breathe life into a world of dreamy impressionism, where imagination and reality blur like whispers in the morning fog.

Trifon Markov | Saatchi Art - Trifon Markov | tr.fonn@yahoo.com

Artist Trifon Markov journeyed with his kin to the Northwest eleven winters past, hailing from Eastern Europe. His craft is in his blood, rooted in his great-grandfather's floral crafts. Inspired by medieval tapestries, expressionism, and enchanted forests, Trifon paints beneath open skies or within his shared art studio alongside his mother, Elena Markova.
